The most popular flooring in St. Augustine, FL
Luxury vinyl plank is now one of the most popular flooring choices today, and it's easy to see why in a market like ours. It's highly water-resistant, scratch-resistant, kid- and pet-proof, looks indistinguishable from hardwood, and costs roughly half as much installed - and it shrugs off the humidity, sandy foot traffic, and occasional storm-season moisture that St. Augustine homes deal with more than most. Browse the rest of our vinyl flooring lineup if you haven't settled on LVP yet.
Amazing Floors Florida stocks LVP from Shaw, Armstrong, Karndean, Mannington, Centura, Kraus, and Harbinger - including the rigid-core SPC and WPC products designers specify on luxury renovations.

How to choose the right LVP
Three numbers tell you almost everything about an LVP product: wear layer, core construction, and total thickness. We'll walk you through what they mean during the consultation.
- Wear layer 12-20 mil - residential, light traffic (rentals, bedrooms)
- Wear layer 22 mil - residential whole-home (most popular)
- Wear layer 28-30 mil - heavy residential and commercial
- SPC core (stone polymer composite) - rigid, won't telegraph subfloor imperfections, and stands up well to Florida's slab-on-grade construction
- WPC core (wood polymer composite) - softer underfoot, warmer feel
- Total thickness 5mm-8mm - thicker is quieter and more forgiving

Learn moreClick-lock vs. glue-down installation
Click-lock LVP floats over the subfloor, installs fast, and is easy to repair. Glue-down LVP feels more solid underfoot, is quieter, and is the better choice for very large open areas and high-traffic commercial spaces. We'll recommend the right method based on your subfloor and room layout - and we install both. If you'd rather compare it to sheet goods first, see our sheet vinyl flooring page.

Professional LVP installation
The difference between a great LVP install and a bad one is in the subfloor. We level every dip, fill every low spot, and use the manufacturer-required underlayment. Our crews also handle stair nosings (custom-milled to match when factory nosings aren't available - see our vinyl flooring stairs page), baseboard removal/reinstall, and full disposal of your existing floor. Financing is available at if you'd rather spread out the cost.

Luxury Vinyl Plank - frequently asked questions
Most St. Johns County homes don't have basements, but LVP is one of the best options for any slab-on-grade room. It's waterproof, handles concrete subfloors without acclimation issues, and feels far warmer than tile.
The top wear layer is highly scratch-resistant, but it isn't indestructible. Dog claws, sandy shoes, and heavy furniture being dragged across it can scuff cheaper LVP. We recommend a 20+ mil wear layer for households with large dogs or beach access.
Quality LVP with a 22+ mil wear layer lasts 20-25 years in a typical home. Commercial-rated LVP can go 25-30 years.
Reputable brands are FloorScore certified for indoor air quality and CARB Phase II compliant for formaldehyde. The LVP we sell is safe to install in nurseries and homes with sensitivities. Read more in our reviews.
