How we install carpet on stairs
We start by removing the old carpet, padding, staples, and tack strip and inspecting the wood underneath. Loose treads get re-screwed; squeaks get glued. Then we install fresh 8-pound rebond padding, tackless strips along each tread and riser, and stretch the carpet with a knee kicker and power stretcher so it stays tight for years. Every seam is heat-bonded to reduce fraying at the nosing. Pair it with our full carpet flooring for a whole-house match, and ask about financing if you're doing both at once.
