We then recommend floating, glue-down, or nail-down based on what will perform best for your home. Engineered Hardwood - frequently asked questions
Yes - if the wear layer is 3mm or thicker, it can be sanded and refinished once or twice. Thinner wear layers (1-2mm) should be screened and recoated instead - ask us about hardwood refinishing either way.
Water-resistant, not waterproof. It tolerates humidity and the occasional spill far better than solid wood, but standing water from a dishwasher leak or storm intrusion should still be cleaned up promptly.
Yes - this is one of engineered hardwood's biggest advantages. We follow manufacturer guidelines on subfloor temperature and acclimation to prevent gapping.
